# Billing and plans

> Understand request usage, plan limits, analytics add-ons, payment details and invoices.

Open **Account → Billing** for the selected workspace's plan, current usage, payment status and invoices. The prices and limits displayed there are the terms to review before changing your subscription.

## Requests and limits

A recommendation list or search contributes to request usage. A batch containing several recommendation sets is not a single billable set: each set is accounted for separately. Inspect the response's `usage` object when using [recommendation sets](https://docs.neuronsearchlab.com/api-reference/endpoint/get-recommendation-sets.md).

Plans also limit resources such as contexts, rules, event types, credentials and members. A disabled creation control can mean the workspace has reached a resource limit even when it still has requests available.

Use the current-period usage display to compare consumption with your allowance. Review the plan's overage terms before sending production traffic. Do not infer cost from HTTP request count alone.

## Change plan

1. Compare the plan cards and their limits.
2. Select **Upgrade** or **Downgrade** for the target plan.
3. Review the confirmation, billing details and any immediate charge or change to allowances.
4. Complete the payment or confirmation step.
5. Return to Billing and verify the active plan.

If you bought through a platform integration, follow that integration's billing flow: [Shopify](https://docs.neuronsearchlab.com/embed/shopify.md) or [Vercel](https://docs.neuronsearchlab.com/platforms/vercel.md). Their subscription and usage terms may differ from a direct subscription.

## Data analytics and retention

**Data analytics** is an optional add-on for Pro and Enterprise. The current plan card shows its status and the active retention period. Enable the add-on and choose the retention tier when you need the [Analytics workbench](https://docs.neuronsearchlab.com/console/analytics.md).

Retention controls how much history is available for reporting. Increasing it does not recreate data that has already expired. Review the price and effective retention before confirming a change.

## Payment details and invoices

Use **Billing Details** for the billing contact and company details, and **Invoices** to view invoice history. **Open Billing Portal** provides payment-method and subscription management.

If the page shows a payment issue, follow **Update payment method** and check any displayed grace-period deadline. A payment restriction is distinct from exhausting a usage allowance.
